The First Education City Pilot is proposed for Delta State, Nigeria. It is an integrated social infrastructure project combining an Education Centre, Primary Healthcare Centre, Sports and Youth Development Centre and essential enabling infrastructure within one planned community environment.
The First Education City Pilot is structured for modular participation. Institutions are invited to engage across the areas most closely aligned with their mandate, whether through capital and construction support, operating and programme support, or technical, implementation and equipment partnership.
Fund the physical development of the Education Centre, Primary Healthcare Centre, Sports and Youth Development Centre and essential enabling infrastructure. A partner may support an individual facility or participate in a wider construction package.
Support the delivery of Education, Healthcare and Sports services and programmes once the facilities are established. This includes school operations, teacher development, TVET and skills programmes, primary healthcare services, maternal and child health programmes, and Sports and Youth Development programmes.
Provide specialist expertise, systems, equipment and implementation support. This includes curriculum and programme development, teacher and staff training, clinical systems, sports coaching, technology and digital systems, education and medical equipment, renewable-energy and utility equipment, and knowledge transfer.
GLWD is seeking to engage government institutions, development finance institutions, philanthropic foundations, corporate partners and corporate foundations, technical and implementation partners, equipment and technology providers, and research and knowledge institutions.
